The gameplay has been cleaned up, and it feels much smoother and quicker than the original. The “Paragon/Renegade” system from the first game returns, and you find yourself making dozens upon dozens of decisions that can influence the rest of the plot. The story starts with a bang, as the protagonist Shepard is brutally killed, only to be rebuilt by Cerberus - a sort of paramilitary organization with a strong political agenda.
